The football season is over and we have met the champions of the top European leagues. Now it’s the turn of the summer transfer period, during which teams can try to strengthen their squad. Rumours and speculations about player transfers are therefore constantly increasing. Let’s take a look together at who has been the most talked about in recent hours and what transfers we can possibly look forward to.
Sergio Ramos is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain
According to the latest reports, former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has found a new employer. He is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain from the new season, where he is expected to sign a two-year contract as a free agent.
The Spanish defender was even supposed to refuse financially more advantageous offers from England, because he likes the project of the French club. Ramos also likes the fact that he would not be so far away from his family and that he would have no problem communicating with many PSG players and coach who speak Spanish.
In the coming days, PSG are expected to officially announce the signing of Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan, in addition to the acquisition of Ramos.
Lille in talks to sign Ben Arfa
According to Le10 Sport, Lille are in talks to sign French midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa. The French champions are keen to secure the services of the 34-year-old, who is available for free after leaving Bordeaux.
Real have eyed a new defender
Real Madrid have eyed a replacement in case right-back Alvaro Odriozola leaves the club in the summer. Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot could become Dani Carvajal’s new partner on the right side of defence.
The Portuguese full-back spent the 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan, who are also considering his permanent transfer. If United do not count on him, he could be available for €10-15 million.
Dortmund have targeted the RB Leipzig player
Borussia Dortmund have identified RB Leipzig defender Marcel Halstenberg as their transfer target, according to German newspaper Bild.
Borussia are considering acquiring the 29-year-old midfielder, who has just entered the final year of his contract and could be available for a sum of around €15 million. Halstenberg has already been at Dortmund, having played for the B-team from 2011-2013.
Tottenham are interested in Pjanic
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in agreeing a deal with Barcelona for the loan signing of midfielder Miralem Pjanic. The 30-year-old has failed to consistently break into the starting line-up since his arrival in 2020 and has not been getting as much playing space as he would like under coach Ronald Koeman.
Spurs would like to take advantage of this situation as they look for reinforcements in the central formation. However, the player is also interested in Italy, where Inter, AC and his former club Juventus Turin are also interested in his services.
Juventus have “no signal” about Ronaldo’s departure
Juventus Turin have received “no signal” from Cristiano Ronaldo that he wants to leave the club. That’s according to new general manager Federico Cherubini. The Portuguese captain is thus expected to play next season in the Old Lady’s jersey.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will enter the final 12 months of his contract in Turin, at the end of which he will be 37 years old. Despite his advanced age, however, he managed to finish last season as Serie A’s top scorer and is still very much valid for his team.
Should the Bianconeri and their new coach Massimiliano Allegri decide not to use his services, there will certainly be no shortage of suitors. He could continue his career at Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain or in the American MLS.
Isak has extended with Real Sociedad
Swedish striker Alexander Isak has extended his contract with his employer Real Sociedad for 5 years, until 2026.
He moved to the Spanish La Liga team in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund for 15 million euros. Since then, he has increased his value to 40 million thanks to good performances. He finished last season in La Liga with a record of 17 goals and 2 assists in 34 games.
Nacho extends his contract with Real
Nacho Fernandez is expected to sign a new contract with Real Madrid soon, which will keep him in the Spanish capital until 2024. The defender’s current contract expires next year, but Real want to secure his services for a longer period.
Meanwhile, the future of the Royal club’s offspring was not at all certain during the season. Clubs from Italy – especially Inter and Napoli – were intensively interested in his services.
However, the departure of Sergio Ramos and the possible transfer of Raphael Varane have completely changed the situation and so the Spaniard will continue to wear the white jersey.
Two players leave Fiorentina
Italian Serie A club Fiorentina have confirmed the departure of two of their players. Uruguayan full-back Martín Cáceres and French winger Franck Ribéry have parted ways with the club. Both players remain without club affiliation for the time being.
Cengiz Under heads to Marseille
Turkish winger Cengiz Under is expected to move from AS Roma to French club Marseille for €10 million. He is expected to sign a four-year contract in France with an annual salary of €3 million.
