Five teams will be leaving the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix in special livery. They are Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Alpine and Williams. Which paint job do you like best?
The Las Vegas Grand Prix will undoubtedly be one huge show. Formula 1 has also rented the Sphere for the upcoming race weekend, where various cuts or highlights of the penultimate race of this season will be shown.
Die-hard fans and experts, however, are dreading the Las Vegas race, and rightfully so. In terms of pure racing, the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be one big unknown.
New tyres and very cold temperatures are likely to be a problem. This, combined with the long straights, means that the drivers will struggle, especially on new asphalt, to get the tyres up to operating temperature.
So it’s quite possible that we’ll see a lot of chaos and a sort of “artificial show”. But the fact remains that this will be a race with probably the biggest show F1 has ever seen.
And the teams themselves are contributing to that. Five teams will be running the Las Vegas Grand Prix in special livery. Specifically, Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren, Alpine and Williams.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix or the Special Paint Show
We have already reported in detail about the Ferrari special paintwork in a previous article. Red Bull will have purple elements on its cars for the first time since 2015. It was during the 2013 to 2015 seasons that the Austrian stable applied the purple paint.
We have already seen the special McLaren paintwork in Singapore. Alpine will run in the traditional colours, but has added various special touches, which you can see above.
Williams will celebrate the Las Vegas venture with a paint job designed to reference the city’s signature lights, and the Williams badge on the car is meant to resemble the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.
American Logan Sargeant will also enjoy a home race. The Williams driver has only scored one point this year, and came very close to another at the recent Brazilian Grand Prix. Alfa Romeo will also present a special paint job on Wednesday.
