Alex Král has a new engagement. On Thursday he signed for the famous Schalke 04. He will spend the whole upcoming season in Gelsenkirchen, during which he will want to repair his tarnished reputation. And he will have an excellent starting position, he could have a privileged position in the club.

Leipzig had to bow out, Tedesco congratulates the winner

Schalke are back among Germany’s elite and are looking to strengthen their squad. So far they have brought in 11 reinforcements permanently. The biggest one is of course Alex King. He is now one of Gelsenkirchen’s most valuable players.

However, it was not only Schalke who were interested in the Czech footballer. It had to compete with Leipzig and Hertha Berlin. Leipzig also had the advantage of being led by coach Domenico Tedesco, under whom Král shone in the jersey of Spartak Moscow.

Tedesco is, among other things, the former coach of Schalke itself. That’s why he had no choice but to congratulate the winner of the battle for the King.

“Congratulations to Schalke on a great deal. Alex is simply a very good player. Plus, he’s got a lot of mileage. I know the Schalke fans and I think they will like him,” the Leipzig coach told German Sky.

The King will have a privileged position at the club

Alex Král is now incomprehensibly under fire from the Czech public. The reason for this is the failed engagement at West Ham, where he practically didn’t get a chance to show what he can do. His indecisiveness has spilled over into the national team. And his nomination to the national team did not help him much in gaining public support.

Still only 24 years old, the footballer has to prove that he has quality and potential. At least he will want to prove it to himself. There is little doubt about him in Germany. After all, it is not for nothing that the more famous, yet poorer Schalke have taken on richer clubs to get him.

There are not many players with such potential in Schalke’s squad. Let alone in the centre of midfield. King will not only be virtually assured of a place in the starting line-up. Expectations and confidence in him are even higher.

The former Slavia, Spartak Moscow and West Ham player should be one of the main driving forces. The only question is how King will tackle it in his head, he undoubtedly has the footballing ability.

The German media also sees King as an important reinforcement

The A-team management itself admitted after the signing that King is a dream player. To get such quality? Even Schalke fans didn’t count on it. However, the persistent efforts have been successful and after several weeks of courtship everything is closed.

And King’s contribution is often seen as crucial by the German media. According to them, the Czech footballer will add much-needed stability to the German goal at the number six position. Král also receives a lot of praise for his lifestyle and the way he takes care of his body.

Of the three German clubs that have been talked about in connection with Alex, this is probably the best choice. Hertha is in chaos after another unsuccessful season and the question is what will happen next. He might not be in such a good position at Leipzig and would have to fight for a place.

However, at Schalke he will be given a lot of confidence, coming in almost as a saviour. Moreover, Schalke seem to be going in the right direction after many bad years. It is strengthening in an interesting way, it is committing to a conceptual work and the goal is not just to save itself for this season, but to lay the foundations for a return to where a club with such a rich history belongs.
