The Italians are mowing down opponent after opponent! Take a look at their stats
When we lost 0:4 to the Italians in Bologna in preparation for Euro 2020, it looked like a horror to many. But the Italians continue their beauty ride and are a candidate for at least the semi-finals of the championship. The statistics speak clearly.
And beware, our national team played against the team from the Apennine Peninsula without several players of the current starting eleven and we tried to play open football in certain passages. For example, the Turks parked the bus against them and still lost 3:0.
It was the strong Syrians who also played an open game against the Italians, but lost 3: 0. Coach Mancini’s charges simply have a team that runs like clockwork and can go far in the tournament.
The statistics speak clearly about Italy’s strength! Their last ten games? Ten wins and a score of 31::0!
“I’ll have to see if a France vs Italy final is possible… If they both win the group, no, they’d meet in the semis. Too bad,” wrote Luděk Mádl on Twitter.
By the way, after two opening matches, the Italians became only the second team in the history of the Euros to win two opening matches by 3 or more goals. Before them, the Netherlands did it in 2008 (3:0 win over Italy and 4:1 win over France).
Further proof why Italy should definitely be reckoned with are these two pictures. On the left you can see the attacking form of coach Mancini’s charges over the last 10 games and on the right the defensive form over the same amount of games.
