The internet is having fun over the Guardiola video. The coach feared a fan was trying to rob him, but he only asked for a photo
Pep Guardiola has probably never seen a situation like this before. And he hopes he never will again. He won’t forget this evening’s bike ride.
Pep Guardiola has probably never experienced a similar situation. And he hopes he never will again. He won’t forget this evening’s bike ride.
Footballers and coaches are used to having virtually no privacy as popular celebrities, and wherever they go, fans will recognise them.
But Guardiola probably didn’t count on that happening even when he takes a bike ride in the middle of the night. But he was wrong.
An enthusiastic fan started shouting at him from afar and sped after Guardiola on his bike. But the Spanish coach did not slow down, instead he pedalled harder and tried to get away.
As the distance between the two men closed, Guardiola turned around, dismounted his bike and tried to offer it to his pursuer, whom he thought was trying to rob him. But he was wrong.
“Pepe, let me take a picture with you! Why are you running away? Let me just take a picture with you, bro! I just want a picture, that’s all!” the Guardiola fan reassured.
The scared coach took a photo with the chaser, but still remained quite scared and did not react to the encouraged fist bump, preferring to leave.
In the end, it all worked out well and Guardiola was unharmed, but the Manchester City coach will certainly not remember the experience fondly.
