Jiri Lehecka is one of the best Czech tennis players at the moment, which is proven not only by his last successful Australian Open tournament. What rankings belong not only to him but also to other Czech tennis players? Several of them are at new career highs.

Lehecka scored his first win at the Australian Open in a major Grand Slam event. And if only one, the native of Mladá Boleslav had a great tournament.

Lehecka successively knocked out Čorič, Eubanks, Norrie and Auger-Alliasim at the Australian Open. But in the quarterfinals, he faced his biggest test yet, the fourth player in the world, Stefanos Tsitsipas. And he lost to him in two sets.

The twenty-one year old tennis player moved up 32 places in the updated ATP rankings, namely to 39th position! And this is clearly his personal best. It was the 59th place.

Another Czech tennis player, Dalibor Svrčina, has also made a big step forward and is ranked 184th in the current ATP rankings. The native of Ostrava improved his personal best by climbing 32 places upwards.

Tennis players – Kvitova is the best, the predatory youth is flying up

Petra Kvitová is still the best Czech tennis player, but she dropped out of the Australian Open in the second round. Still, she is in 13th place with 2,281 points, having improved two positions.

Karolina Pliskova, on the other hand, has been quite successful at this Grand Slam. Without losing a single set, she made it to the quarterfinals, where she fell to Poland’s Linette. However, the 30-year-old player became the Czech number two, moving up eleven places. And thus to the 20th place overall.

Young hope Linda Fruhvirtova also had a successful Australian Open, falling in the eighth round. The seventeen-year-old native of Prague is ranked 51st in the WTA rankings, having moved up 31 places.

Another tennis player who improved her personal best is Linda Noskova. She is ranked at No. 26 in the rankings. It should be added that Marie Bouzkova remains the Czech number three (1,521 points, 26th place), while Barbora Krejcikova is the fourth player in the top 30.

She dropped seven places. However, if we also look at the doubles ranking, the world number one is still Kateřina Siniaková.

The 26-year-old Czech star and Krejcikova dominated the tournament in Melbourne and defended their victory from last year. Together they won their seventh Grand Slam trophy.
