The hunt for Vinícius continues. You motherfucker, yelled an Osasuna fan during the minute’s silence. Die, the whole stadium chanted afterwards
The most hated footballer in Spain at the moment? Vinícius Junior. The young Brazilian drives rival fans crazy and it has become quite a trend to insult and boo the Real Madrid striker. Once again, the Osasuna fans have done it again.

The situation with Vinicius has gone beyond all limits in Spain. It’s time to stop the narrative that the Brazilian is a provocateur who is asking for hate from the stands. No, it’s not true.
Virtually anywhere Real Madrid go in La Liga, from the first minute they are the target of insults, abuse, often racist abuse. Interestingly, in the Champions League or elsewhere in Europe, this absolutely does not happen.
Indeed, in Spain, the trend at the moment is to hit, insult and whistle at Vinícius. Fans of rivals have found that this often upsets the young player and try to help their team as much as possible.
In the beginning, it was obvious that the insults and whistling were affecting the Brazilian, it derailed him a lot, he couldn’t concentrate on the game and his performance went down rapidly. Recently, however, it looks like he has slowly started to come to terms with it and like, say, Cristiano Ronaldo in the past, who went through something similar in Spain, the hatred is starting to motivate him.
Saturday’s game at Osasuna was a beautiful example. The players had only just come on to the pitch and a minute’s silence had begun. Vinícius was barely on the pitch for a few minutes, there was no question of any provocation.
Insults and abuse
Nevertheless, there was an Osasuna fan who shouted “Vinícius, hijo de pu*a, ” in the middle of the minute of silence .
When Vinícius got into a scuffle with an opposing player just before half-time, the entire El Sadar stadium started chanting the aforementioned insult, and added a heavier calibre. After a while, the chant changed to ” Vinícius muérete,” which means “Vinícius die”.
Whatever the sporting rivalry, it’s absolutely over the line to wish death on a 22-year-old. And even the Osasuna players don’t like it.
“Vinícius behaved normally today. What’s going on around him has to stop,” said Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
Vinícius, however, has shown a shift. While in previous games he would have been unsettled, now he acted like his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. He could have decided the game on his own in several chances, he still didn’t convert them, but then he beautifully found Valverde in the whitewash who scored the winning goal.
Just before the end, he managed to completely silence the excited stadium when he scored a goal to make it 2-0 and even celebrated like Ronaldo. The goal was eventually disallowed due to offside, but Asensio added a valid goal and Real won 2: 0.
“The insults continue…but so does the dancing…see you in Liverpool! Hala Madrid!” sent a message to fans by Vinícius on Twitter after the match.
