The Hag on his way from Manchester United? I don’t deal in criticism. When you have players perpetually injured, you can’t get results
Will Erik ten Hag be Manchester United’s coach next season? This is the question that is being addressed in the English city not only by the fans, but above all by the club’s management. In fact, the Dutch coach himself recently expressed his opinion on this topic.
Will Erik ten Hag be Manchester United’s coach next season? This is the question that is being addressed in the English city not only by the fans, but above all by the club’s management. In fact, the Dutch coach himself recently expressed his opinion on this topic.
Already from the summer of 2022, Erik ten Hag leads Manchester United as head coach. When he arrived, the fans promised him a return to the top of the English league. So did the club’s management. So far, however, it hasn’t quite happened and the team is rather floundering under his leadership.
The Red Devils are not performing at their best, neither in terms of play nor results. They are currently seventh in the Premier League, having accumulated 50 points in 32 games played. They are tied with sixth-placed Newcastle on points, but have a significantly worse record.
The fans of the famous Manchester club have been calling for a change in the head coach for a long time. However, it has now been revealed that his position will also be addressed by the new management headed by minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
It should be added, Manchester United’s last win in the Premier League came on 9 March when they beat Everton 2-0 at home. Since then, however, they have drawn with Brentford (1-1), Liverpool and Bournemouth (2-2). In addition, after a dramatic finish, they lost to Chelsea 3:4.
So instead of heading back to the top of the table, the club has to look behind them. Eighth-placed West Ham is only two points away, ninth-placed Chelsea three.
The Red Devils can get the three points they need at home to Sheffield United on Wednesday. How did coach Erik ten Hag comment on the long-running bad situation? Among other things, the United coach has said that if the club’s owners evaluate his time at the club negatively, he is ready to leave.
Erik ten Hag on United’s performance…
“I know that when you have as many injuries as we have had, and in key key positions, you can’t deliver the results you want to deliver. And that’s fine, that’s my truth. I don’t deal with criticism and I don’t waste my energy on it, whether I’m judged fairly or not,” said the Hag, whose words were quoted by Fabrizio Romano on Platform X.
“I know what we are after and why I am here – to win trophies and create economic value. That’s what we’re working on and in the process there are sometimes some setbacks. I can see the nuances, but some of the critical comments lack this realistic view. But I can’t dwell on it and get emotions involved,” the Manchester United coach added.
