The Forgotten Trophy, Avram Glazer and an emotional Weghorst. That’s what Manchester United’s Carabao Cup celebrations brought

Manchester United ended a 6 year long wait for a trophy. After 2,104 days to be precise, Red Devils fans could finally enjoy their team’s celebrations. Even the players themselves enjoyed the victory in the Carabao Cup final, where they beat Newcastle United 2: 0. The celebrations themselves brought a few highlights.

The forgotten trophy

It only took him 7 months to get United back among the elite of English football. Erik ten Hag amazes the fans and builds a very good team with a strong character.

Right after winning the final, he had a press conference where he almost forgot the Carabao Cup trophy when he left.

After being alerted by the journalists, he just confidently remarked that he can leave it there because more trophies are coming soon.

Avram Glazer at Wembley

The celebrations were big after the final whistle. However, there was one downside for United fans. The much hated Avram Glazer, one of the Glazer family that owns Manchester United, was present at Wembley.

Although the club is currently up for sale, some members of the Glazer family are reportedly keen to keep the Manchester, England club, which the Red Devils supporters certainly don’t like and they made this clear many times during the game with shouts of “We want Glazers out!”

A touched Weghorst

Perhaps the whole football world was flooded with photos of a happy Wout Weghorst squatting in front of a sector of Manchester United fans.

After the game, he couldn’t even be interviewed about how moved he was by Sunday’s victory. He had to be consoled by the Hag himself, who Weghorst then thanked for the opportunity to battle for trophies at Manchester United.
