The first word is true! Tuchel has not agreed with Bayern, he is leaving after the season. But he is ready for the next challenge

It’s a similar “soap opera” as in the case of Xavi and Barcelona. Bayern’s current coach Thomas Tuchel announced his departure from the club some time ago, but the Munich giant was then unable to find a new coach and so tried to arrange a deal with Tuchel to continue working together. But as the German coach has now confirmed, his first word stands.

Bayern Munich have had a very inconsistent season. For the first time in many years, it will not win a single trophy. It was dethroned by Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League, and lost to Saarbrücken in the DFB Pokal in the second round.

Thomas Tuchel, still the current coach of the club, has often been under criticism. So it was no great surprise when the club announced in February that they wanted to go into next season with a new coach.

Not long after that, Munich began working on bringing in a new coach. But every potential replacement refused. Among them, Ralf Rangnick, Xabi Alonso, Oliver Glasner, Ruben Amorim, Julian Nagelsmann continues on the bench of the German national team.

Hans Flick’s comeback could have been in play, but the club could not reach an agreement with him. So the club tried again to agree with Tuchel whether he would like to stay at the Allianz Arena after all.

Tuchel finally confirmed his departure

Bayern fans even wrote a petition urging Tuchel to stay with the team. However, the former Chelsea manager confirmed on Friday morning that he has not reached an agreement with the club. So his first word stands. The 50-year-old coach will leave the historically most successful German club at the end of the season.

“This is my last press conference at Säbener Strasse. The agreement from February remains in force. We discussed everything again, but we did not reach an agreement,” Tuchel revealed at the press conference before the Hoffenheim game.

It must be added, club stars and legends such as Thomas Müller, Harry Kane and Manuel Neuer were also in favour of the coach staying.

Tuchel also stated at the same time that he is ready to take over and lead another club to success from next season. As he has previously stated, he would love to return to the Premier League.
