The fight for the European champion continues. Barcelona send improved offer to Germany, Spanish star already agrees contract
If other European clubs are very active in this summer transfer market, the opposite is true for the Catalan giant. Barcelona are unlikely to bring Nico Williams after all, so the priority now is Dani Olmo from Leipzig.

- Barcelona have only announced one new face so far this summer
- Leipzig’s Dani Olmo is now a priority
- The Catalan giant has sent an improved offer to Germany
Barcelona have only brought in one player so far, and that’s still more in the context of completing the squad. Midfielder Pau Victor has moved to the famous La Liga club from Girona.
One of the reasons for the low transfer activity is, of course, the club’s ongoing financial problems. On the other hand, João Félix and João Cancelo have already returned to their respective clubs from loan spells at the end of June.
Barcelona also let go of Marcos Alonso, for example, and striker Marc Guiu moved to Chelsea for six million euros. In terms of arrivals to the club, the main object on Barcelona’s radar was Nico Williams.
The Bilbao winger has shown himself in a great light at this year’s European Championship, as did the entire Spanish team. However, as it currently stands, negotiations with the Basque outfit have gone very slack. At the moment, it seems that Dani Olmo is Barcelona’s priority.
According to the German version of Sky Sports, the 26-year-old offensive midfielder is open to a transfer to the Catalan big club. Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano then posted more details on the traditional social network X.
The European champion with Spain has reportedly already agreed to a six-year contract offered by Barcelona. Now both clubs will come to the negotiating table again.
But coach Hansi Flick is very keen on Olmo, as are club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco. Barcelona have sent an offer of 55 million euros and another 7 million in bonuses to Leipzig.
