England was in a state of great anticipation ahead of the final match of the Euros. Fans began to gather as early as 6 hours before kick-off and the town squares of all cities began to fill with crowds. It started with singing and cheering, unfortunately the rising blood alcohol levels and pre-match adrenaline also led to some very unfortunate moments and England showed us that in many ways they should not be setting an example.
During the Italian anthem there was the typical booing that “decorated” some English gentlemen throughout the tournament. England have played the vast majority of their matches on home soil at Wembley, so this disgusting gesture has been felt by several national teams before Italy.
England took a very early lead, specifically at 01:57 and it was the fastest goal ever in a European Championship final. This, of course, smelled very good to the English fans. As long as England were in the lead, they created a great atmosphere.
During the game one fan broke away from the organisers and ran onto the pitch but the cameras let him go completely unnoticed. The troublemaker can look forward to a hefty fine and possibly not even seeing the football stadium for the rest of his life.
In England, a blonde fan wearing a Manchester United jersey that read Mrs Grealish and the symbolic number 69 still attracted attention. The main problem with the whole scene isn’t her love for the English hunk, but the fact that Grealish is still an Aston Villa player.
As for the cheering, Wembley got very nervous after Italy’s equalising goal. After that, the fans were noticeably only singing the familiar songs that played in between the extra time.
When Italy finally won the penalty shootout, a significant number of fans immediately packed up and left. On the other hand, many supporters stayed in the stands and cheered the sad English players despite the loss. But now let’s go back in time before the game itself!
Moments before the Euro final
More tricky and disastrous moments happened especially before the match started. Indeed, passionate fans tried to get into the bowels of Wembley without tickets and some individuals even succeeded.
Yet, even 6 hours before kick-off, fans were already creating a wonderful atmosphere near Wembley.
Unfortunately, in the hours that followed, violence erupted. Mass madness began outside and inside Wembley.
Social networks were overwhelmed by the absolutely undignified behaviour of some English fans, who even attacked each other.
