The end, PSG must solve the problem. Kylian Mbappé has officially announced his departure
Until recently, there was speculation that PSG might have at least a small chance of keeping Kylian Mbappé in France after all. But now it’s clear that won’t happen. The French star has kept his words. When he makes his decision, he will be the first to tell everyone. That’s exactly what he did on Friday night.
Until recently, there was speculation that PSG might have at least a small chance of keeping Kylian Mbappé in France after all. But now it’s clear that won’t happen. The French star has kept his words. When he makes his decision, he will be the first to tell everyone. That’s exactly what he did on Friday night.
Coincidence? Quite possibly, however, the French rag RMC Sport came out on Friday morning with the news that PSG had found a replacement for their biggest gem. While it was not yet official whether Kylian Mbappé would actually leave the club, it is now clear.
So the speculation is gaining momentum. The replacement is to be Neapolitan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who led the Partenopei to the league title last season and hasn’t done badly this season either. He has put up good numbers despite his club’s poor performances.
At 23, the Georgian footballer still has a lot of potential to improve. He is still not at the level of the French star though, maybe he never will be. But if PSG build the perfect jigsaw under Luis Enrique, he could be a huge weapon.
Mbappé announced his demise in Paris on Friday night. In doing so, he kept his words. He responded to speculation about his departure by saying that when something was official, he would announce it himself. He wanted to be fair. And so he did.
Kylian Mbappé says goodbye to PSG
Still only 25 years old, the footballer posted a nearly four-minute long video on social media revealing that he is leaving PSG. He says goodbye to the fans and the club, explaining his move.
“I want to announce that this was my last year in Paris. I will not renew my contract and one great adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. On Sunday I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes,” Kylian Mbappé said in his announcement.
“It’s a lot of emotions. For many years I had the chance and the honour to be at one of the biggest clubs not only in France but in the world. It was my first experience with a club that is under a lot of pressure. It helped me to grow. I played alongside some of the best players in history, with champions, I met many people, I grew as a man with all the glories and mistakes,” he let slip.
In the video, Kylian Mbappé thanks all the club members, former coaches. He says PSG is in great hands of people who love it.
“I didn’t think it would be so difficult to announce that I was leaving my country, France, Ligue 1. After seven years, I need a new challenge. It’s difficult. I don’t regret any moment. PSG is a club I will always have in my heart. I will watch every game, it will always interest me and I will always be close to it,” he added.
And what’s next? Fabrizio Romano is clear. The next stop will be Real Madrid.
