The direct qualifiers from the Championship are decided. Fulham and Bournemouth will see each other again in the Premier League

Fulham are the first promotion to the second tier of the competition. Second placed Bournemouth also secured direct promotion in the play-off. One more team will be promoted to the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield joining two other teams in the play-offs.
Mitrovic breaks record as Fulham crush Luton 7-0
Cairney opened the scoring in the 29th minute. It was also Fulham’s 100th goal in the Championship. Tete added a second goal ten minutes later to ensure the home side were in control of the game at the break.
In the second half Carvalho, Mitrovic and Decord-Reid scored, with another goal added by substitute Seri and Mitrovic adjusted the score to the final 7-0 – the Serbian striker confirming his record dominance in the second division. It was the third time this season that Marco Silva’s team scored seven goals.
The Serbian striker became the record holder of the second English league thanks to two goals. He broke Guy Whittingham’s previous record of 42 goals for Portsmouth from 1992/93 by one goal, the most in the current league format with 46 games, with one game remaining in the Championship season.
Marco Silva has asked Mitrovic to carry his form into the next Premier League season. The 27-year-old only scored three goals last season, but Silva believes he will return as a wiser player in the 2022/23 season.
“He will be more confident next season, which is what we need as a club. We all need to improve every year. We can’t just judge him on the goals he scores next season – we have to analyse many other things from him.”
Moore fired Bournemouth into the Premier League in the final minutes
The Bournemouth players were given some great news before the game. Their teammate David Brooks has been cured of the cancer he was diagnosed with in October.
“The news we got today was unbelievable, ” said coach Scott Parker.
The Cherries secured promotion to the top flight after two years in the 33rd round of the English second division on Tuesday, beating direct rivals Nottingham Forest 1-0 thanks to an 83rd minute goal from Welsh striker Kieffer Moore. With that they definitely secured the second place in the table.
Nottingham will have one last chance in the play-offs for the teams that are placed third to sixth.
Billing played a direct kick just outside the whitewash to the traditionally tall Welshman Moore, but this time on the ground. Moore finished along the ground to the far post and sent his side through to the Premier League. Celebrations erupted after the setup, with hundreds of Bournemouth fans rushing onto the pitch just after the whistle.
Fulham will play Sheffield and Bournemouth will play Millwall in the last round. The aforementioned Sheffield and Millwall still have a chance of qualifying for the barrage.
