The Czech football team is not pulling much compared to the hockey team. The opening match against Scotland was seen by 692 000 people, while the hockey team’s viewership at the World Cup did not fall below one million. What is behind this?

The Czech national football team cannot be satisfied with the TV ratings for its match against Scotland. The match was seen by 692 000 people.

In comparison with hockey, which has always exceeded the million mark, the match against Great Britain, which was played at 11:15, was seen by 1 150 000 people.

The more attractive matches were almost double that. What is behind this problem of the Czech national football team?

One possibility could be the long-term failure of the football team. It simply has no realistic chance of greater success, and so many condemn it in advance.

Related to this is the significantly lower percentage of women who watch such a match. The World Cup is simply more interesting to them for some reason.

However, it is to be expected that the viewership of other Czech matches will be higher. In case of promotion, the viewership will then reach similar numbers as the national hockey team.
