The football public is pretty pumped! Our national team did a great job at the Euro and made it to the top 8 teams in Europe, but that’s just the past and a nice memory. Jaroslav Šilhavy has another big challenge ahead of him.
The task is clear, to get to the 2022 World Championships in Qatar. The last time the Czech Republic was represented at the World Cup was in 2006 and since then it has not been to the final tournament even once.
Sixteen years of waiting could be broken by this team. In Group E, we are in second place so far with 4 points (a win over Estonia, a draw with Belgium and a narrow loss to Wales). We need to beat the Belarusians on home soil and try for a small miracle in Belgium.
After all, the football god owes us a little something from the Euros, we were reaching for the semi-finals against Denmark, but it was not to our liking.
