Cards in the UFC welterweight division probably dealt
The light at the end of the tunnel is getting clearer and the unraveling of the puzzle within the UFC welterweight division is getting closer. It looks like a packed top division in the world’s top league will offer fantastic fights full of excitement and blood in the coming months.
The calm waters from the organization have been stirred by the fighters themselves, who have taken the situation in the division firmly into their own hands on their social media. While champion Jiri Prochazka has arranged a title rematch with Brazilian Glover Teixeira, Dagestan’s Magomed Ankalaev has challenged Poland’s Jan Blachowicz.
Polish Blachowicz in a panic about the situation in the division?
However, the legendary Polish fighter is extremely unhappy with the situation. In fact, he clearly envisioned himself as a title challenger and appealed to the UFC management and fans on the internet to make his next fight to face Prochazek in the biggest MMA fight of all time on the old continent.
Blachowicz has been filling his social networks with tweets directed at the Moravian samurai for virtually the entire week, and although he made it abundantly clear that he never chose his opponent, he doesn’t want to hear about another fight.
YouTube channel MMAFightingonSBN published an extensive interview in which the Polish fighter speaks about Jiri Prochazka. His words prove that the Moravian fighter is very much in his stomach.
Procházka is afraid, I could knock him out, says the Pole
“He is a very good fighter, he has a somewhat crazy style, but especially in his attitude I see a lot of gaps that I could use,” he evaluates Procházka’s skills. “But my stand-up skills and punching power are better and I believe I could knock him out,” he boasted.
“All respect to Glover, but he lost, so he should fight at least one more fight like me,” he said towards Brazilian veteran Teixeira. “He can take on Ankalaev, ” he said of his plans.
“I think there’s fear in his head somewhere,” he said of the Czech fighter. “For him, it’s better to lose to Glover than to me in Europe,” he offered as a possible address for a mutual battle. “Poland, the national stadium in Warsaw, can you imagine 60,000 people,” he asked.
“I haven’t lost respect for his skills and what he can do in the octagon,” he said. “But I have lost a little respect for what he says and how he acts,” he concluded.
The final denouement of the story within the division is sure to come soon. But Procházka, as champion, has the right to decide according to his inner feelings. But it is extremely unlikely that he is afraid of the Polish wrestler. Blachowicz may have forgotten that it was he who lost to the veteran Teixeira and the Brazilian sent him to dreamland after less than two rounds.
