Slavia Prague fell out with Legia and will spend the autumn only in the group stage of the Conference Europa League. The finances Slavia will earn in this league are not much lower than in the Europa League, so no major reduction of the squad can be expected.

Slavia cannot be satisfied with their performance in the European Cups. First, it dropped out of the Champions League preliminary round with Ferencváros, then out of the Europa League with Legia.

The Slavs have to settle for the new European Conference League, which, however, offers almost identical finances to the Europa League.

For this reason, it is definitely not a big downgrade that necessarily requires selling players. This was confirmed by coach Jindřich Trpišovský.

“From an economic point of view, the Conference League is paradoxically more advantageous for the club. We have a precise idea of the squad we want to have in the autumn.

Thecomposition of the squad has nothing to do with promotion or non-advancement, it was mainly about sporting ambitions and from the economic point of view it makes no difference, rather the opposite,” said coach Trpišovský at the press conference.

Nevertheless, there could still be some changes. David Zima could head to Italy, a big question mark hangs over Peter Olayinka, who failed a medical in Copenhagen.
