The championship tournament has the semifinals on the schedule. Czech doubles players will challenge the Ukrainian-Latvian pair
One of the main highlights of this year’s tennis season will be the semi-finals on Sunday night. The knockout stage does not lack the world’s number one singles players, nor the doubles ones. Will Barbora Krejcikova and Kateryna Siniakova take the next step to defend their title?

At 20:30, the Czechs will open the programme with their match. The six-time Grand Slam champions did not lose a set in their group Casie Casals and now they will face Ukraine’s Lyudmila Kichenok and Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko.
On the hard surface in Fort Worth, Texas, the second semi-final will be catered by the Russian-Belgian duo of Veronika Kudermetova, Elise Mertens and the American-Dutch pair of Desirae Krawczyk, Demi Schuurs. This match will conclude on the penultimate day of play.
Before that, the top four singles players will take the court. We can expect an even match between Caroline Garcia of France and Maria Sakkari of Greece, the sixth player in the WTA rankings and one rank higher.
One of the biggest favourites for the overall triumph before the tournament was Iga Świątek of Poland, who has not lost a set so far in the event. The world number one will challenge Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, who is ranked seventh.
Defending champion Garbiñe Muguruza of Spain did not qualify for the 2022 Tournament of Champions. The same is the case for her final opponent last year, namely Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.
Live coverage of the event, which bears the official name of the WTA Finals, is broadcast by O2 TV Sport and O2 TV Tennis. The culmination of the prestigious event in the form of the finals will take place the following day.
