This weekend , the first ever mixed martial arts tournament of the biggest Polish organization KSW took place on our territory, specifically at the Home Credit Arena in Liberec. At the tournament we could see a number of Czech fighters who graced the whole gala evening.
Thanks to the Nova Action TV station, fans could compare how MMA tournaments are organized in the Polish organization. If someone was so impressed by the tournament that they would like to continue watching MMA events on a regular basis, they definitely have something to look forward to.
During the gala event in Liberec, KSW unveiled a repeat of the tournament, which is hard to find competition in the world. In June, the capital of Poland will experience a truly spectacular show.
The organization has revealed that it will be a repeat of the memorable KSW 39 Colosseum tournament, which took place in 2017 at the National Stadium in Warsaw. The event, which became the second most attended MMA tournament in history, left all UFC galas behind.
That KSW 39 tournament was watched by an incredible 57,766 spectators at the Warsaw stadium. The footage from the stadium must give every combat sports fan the creeps.
The only tournament to beat KSW 39’s numbers was the 71,000 spectator PRIDE Schockwave, held in Tokyo, Japan in 2002. Third place in MMA events is held by UFC 243 Adesanya vs. Whittaker. In Melbourne, Australia in 2019, 57,127 spectators watched the tournament.
MMA fans will see the tournament, titled KSW Colosseum II, on June 3. The organization has also already revealed the first star name. The gala will feature 42-year-old Polish veteran Mamed Khalidov.
