UFC fans have a lot to look forward to! ESPN has revealed that a rematch of arguably the best women’s MMA fight of all time is expected to take place this summer. Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be back in action. The fight is expected to take place at a tournament where Jiri Prochazka will be the main event.
The date was March 7, 2020, the UFC 248 tournament was held in Las Vegas, the main event of the evening catered by Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. It was expected to be a great fight, but what happened exceeded all expectations.
The fight between the Chinese and the Polish woman made history, and is still considered by many media outlets to be the best women’s MMA fight of all time. After all, the photos of how both fighters looked after the fight are enough to prove it.
Jedrzejczyk hasn’t fought since then, however, she has made it clear in recent months that she is preparing for her comeback. It was Zhang who managed to lose twice to Rose Namajunas in that time, hence losing her championship belt.
Now it is more than likely that we will see a rematch. According to ESPN, both fighters have already agreed to the fight. It should happen at UFC 275, where Jiri Prochazka will face champion Glover Teixeira in the main event.
It’s worth noting that Jedrzejczyk is undoubtedly a UFC legend. After all, she has the most title defenses (5) in the history of the women’s strawweight organization.
