The best shooters in Europe? Reigning king Lewandowski, Czech cannonballer or the unstoppable Vlahovic

European football competitions are reaching their halfway point. It’s starting to become clear which teams will be fighting for the overall top spot in the table and which ones will be facing a tough fight for salvation. The same goes for the individual statistics. Which scorers are the most productive this season?

1. Robert Lewandowski – 18 goals

The Polish cannonballer has been a long-standing fixture in the battle for top scorer. Last season he dominated this statistic(41 goals), beating even Messi (30 goals) and Ronaldo (29 goals) by a wide margin. He’s a real goal scorer. He has already scored 42 Bundesliga goals in the past year, equalling the record of the legendary Gerd Muller.

At the same time, he is one goal short of matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s best scoring year (he scored 69 goals in 2013). He dominates the Bundesliga goalscoring table again this season.

He has scored 18 goals in 16 games and can win the Bundesliga top scorer award for the fifth time in a row. Thanks to his productivity, Bayern are at the top of the overall standings (six points ahead of second-placed Dortmund), winning another league title should be a mere formality.

2. Patrik Schick – 16 goals

There is a surprising name in second place that makes Czech fans very happy. 13 games, 16 goals. An average of more than 1 goal per game (he is unrivalled in this statistic). And he has missed a few games due to injury, otherwise he would have been at the very top. His current form is absolutely breathtaking. He has scored 8 goals in his last 3 games.

Patrick Schick is in the form of his life. Czech fans are certainly hoping that he will maintain this performance into the spring barrage and help the Czech national team advance to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It is already clear that he will be a very hot commodity after the season. He seems ready to make the step up and move to a leading European big club.

3. Dusan Vlahovic – 15 goals

The 3rd place finish is also surprising, even though the Serbian cannonballer drew attention to himself in the previous season (21 goals, 4th top scorer in Serie A). The Fiorentina star confirms that last season was not a shot in the dark. He has been highly productive this season (15 goals in 17 games), dominating the Italian league’s scorers table.

Within this year, Vlahovic has already scored 32 goals, only Lewandowski is better. He has been instrumental in Fiorentina’s challenge for European Cups. The same applies to him as to Schick. He too will be a big transfer target in the summer. Whoever gets him could hit the jackpot.

4.Mohamed Salah – 14 goals

The “King of Egypt” dominates the English Premier League. In 16 games he has scored 14 goals and 9 assists, dominates the scorers and passers table, and has a 50% share of all Liverpool goals. He also has amazing stats in the Champions League (6 games, 7 goals). Salah is in the form of his life, according to many he is currently the best player in the world.

He dominates the game as well, opposing defences can’t cope with him at all. He is absolutely indispensable for Liverpool. Thanks to him, the Reds can think about winning the league title or the Champions League. If he keeps up this performance, he will be a big favourite to win the next Ballon d’Or.

5.Karim Benzema – 13 goals

He reigns supreme in the Spanish league goalscoring table, and is the top scorer in the competition. He makes great use of his greatest strengths (high productivity, excellent place selection, fabulous shooting instincts). After Messi’s departure from Barcelona, he is the biggest star of La Liga. Thanks to his regular interventions, Real are going for another league title.

It would have to be a major failure for the Madrid outfit to let him get away. Benzema’s productivity will also be needed in the Champions League eighth round. The White Ballet will face France’s Paris Saint-Germain in a clash of titans. If Real can survive this battle, they could go very far in this competition.
