The rematch between Attila Vegh and Karlos Vemola is getting closer according to the latest information. Although the date has still not been announced,it is expected to happen in the summer of next year. In his last interview, Végh was supposed to identify the best fighter in the Octagon and did not mention his last opponent. Who did he name?
Attila Végh’s last fight is known to the general public. In the first round, he dealt a hard KO to Karlos Vémol and could, surprisingly according to many, enjoy one of the biggest wins of his career.
A long time has passed since then and Végh has not returned to MMA. His apparent last fight of his career should be on the schedule next summer, again with Vemola.
For it to be the highest paying fight of their careers, there can be no doubt about it. But according to Vegh, Vemola is not the best fighter in the Octagon right now. Who does he think he is?
“The best pound-for-pound fighter in the Octagon? In my opinion, probably David Kozma. The fact that he has five or six title fights under his belt, there’s no question. He’s the fighter that I think has accomplished the most there. And he’s really beaten tough opponents, they haven’t given him any spoils,” he said in an interview with Refresher.
However, one can agree with his words. Kozma, who fights in the welterweight division, is undefeated in the Octagon and is also a multiple-time champion of the organization.
He was last defeated in the Russian RCC in December 2019,when he fell short to Roman Mukhamedshin. Since then, he has defeated four tough opponents in the Octagon and will defend his title against Kaiku Brito in early December.
