Prague Slavia and its museum gave fans a reminder of the legendary sayings of Josef Bican, who would have celebrated a beautiful 108th birthday.

Yes, truly unsurpassed in many ways. In his career, Josef Bican shone, and it is also impressive that he received only one red card in all the league games he documented. Anyway, even more incredible is the number of league goals, he managed to score 515 goals in 357 games.

One of the greatest international sporting achievements in the history of Slavia is winning the 1938 Central European Cup. Bican was the tournament’s top scorer, scoring 10 goals in 8 matches.

How did he comment on winning the valuable trophy? “We were leading 2:0. It wasn’t over yet, but the 6,000 spectators from Czechoslovakia were crying with happiness. We cried too, but only after the game when they gave us the trophy.”
