Jiří Procházka reacts to the last strong words of Khamzat Chimaev, who recalled the mutual sparring with the Moravian samurai. He called the latter a “moron”.

Chimaev lashes out at Jiri Prochazka

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the biggest talents the UFC has. The undefeated Chechen-Swedish fighter currently has no confirmed opponent in the world’s top MMA league, so he’s challenging anyone and everyone.

His confidence thus reaches to the heavens, however, now he seems to have overreached. In one of the interviews, “The Wolf” returned to sparring with Jiri Prochazka. The latter visited Chimaev’s gym in 2019 in preparation for a title rematch with Muhammed Lawal back in the Japanese organization RIZIN.

“He didn’t have a chance in a classic MMA training session, I totally destroyed him on the ground,” Chimaev bragged. “He beat me in the stand-up, but I wasn’t at the level I am today. If he looks like a winner, let him come and wipe his ass again.”

“If he has the welterweight title, then I will be interested in him. Otherwise, I don’t care about him because he is a fool,” he called the Moravian fighter indiscriminately.

“I don’t understand why he is interested in Chinese culture and doesn’t care about the traditions of his country,” he asked incomprehensibly. He confused Chinese culture with Japanese culture, which had appealed to Procházka from his days fighting in the Japanese organization.

The Moravian samurai rushed in with a clear message

But the otherwise icy calm Procházka didn’t keep the fans waiting long for his answer. “Hey, I just watched that Chimaev, he’s a real tough guy,” he rushed with a quick response.

“I’ll be happy to meet him in the ring and win,” came the clear message. “He’s a kid who talks too much, can’t see his mouth and doesn’t know the consequences of his words. I’ll ask him about that the next time I meet him in person,” he added of his brash opponent.

Chimaev was last seen in September at UFC 279, where he was scheduled to face the legendary Nate Diaz. However, he failed to meet the welterweight limit by four pounds and turned many fans and the organization’s management against him.

The replacement, Kevin Holland, was then swept in just two minutes. However, less than a year ago, he fought a five round war with Gilbert Burns, who was a head shorter and got him into huge trouble.

So to challenge a welterweight champion who lost his belt because of his own decision will strike most fans of the sport as a complete fool’s errand. While one fights for world titles and has made it in two of the world’s leading organizations, the other focuses on sparring bouts.
