The audacity! Jake Paul challenges undefeated Khabib in MMA
Jake Paul has been challenging former MMA fighters to boxing matches in recent years. But this time, he’s probably bitten off a bigger bite than he can chew.
Jake Paul has been challenging former MMA fighters to boxing matches in recent years. But this time, he’s probably bitten off a bigger bite than he can chew.
We recently informed you that Khabib Nurmagomedov became the owner of the MMA organization EAGLE FC after his career ended. While the organization operates mostly in Dagestan, it held its first tournament in the United States last week.
Khabib let it be known at a press conference that he offered a contract in his organization to brash YouTuber Jake Paul. The latter has been thinking lately that he would like to try mixed martial arts in addition to boxing.
Jake Paul responded to the offer by saying he would gladly accept. But on the condition that Khabib is his first opponent. The Youtuber elevated his brashness with another statement that seems rather ridiculous given the Russian Eagle’s inactivity.
“For me to even start negotiating with someone, he would have to come up with a sum of at least $25-35 million. But a possible MMA fight with Khabib would change my attitude,” Paul boasted on the MMAFightingonSBN YouTube channel.
“He’s got nothing on me in terms of attitude. About fighting on the ground, I would need some time to train for such a fight,” he added boldly.
The undefeated lightweight champion would have a body proportion disadvantage against the YouTuber though. But the way Khabib dominated on the ground against the UFC’s elite suggests it would be a smooth run.
When asked on the Full Send Podcast if Khabib would fight Jake, he answered unequivocally “Oh come on. Jake Paul? In MMA, I’d knock him out in a matter of minutes,” he laughed.
“It’s possible that in boxing he can throw a punch. But wrestling is a completely different sport,” brushing off the young American’s utopian challenge.
