The arrival of Matić to AS is imminent. Mourinho’s scales are tipping more towards Rome than Paris

Nemanja Matić finally ended his tour of England after this season and is now a free agent waiting for a new deal. Nemanja Matić finally ended his tour of England after this season and is now a free agent waiting for a new deal. José Mourinho is keen to take advantage of this opportunity, as he would like to bring the experienced defensive midfielder back into his team. Does this rule out the Portuguese coach leaving for PSG?

When Mourinho arrived in Rome, the management promised a long-term and conceptual work from this move. And apparently, he still hopes that this will indeed be the case. But a powerful player has stepped in to thwart that.

Indeed, talkSPORT has come out with the information that PSG are strongly considering engaging Mourinho. Although Mauricio Pochettino, the current coach of the Parisian club, is under contract until 2023, he is not expected to keep it. There is not expected to be interest from either side.

The reason is simple. PSG wants to finally win the Champions League and quite possibly the club’s management doesn’t even care anymore about how it will be. the 59-year-old coach loves cup competitions, which he proved this year. If the players give in to him and sacrifice for the team, it won’t be impossible.

Mourinho is now to be considered as the main option. However, the question is whether he himself will want to leave Rome. Italy suits him, he enjoys his engagement in Rome, the club is accommodating and trusting him in many ways. In addition, there is a positive atmosphere there.

However, Italian journalists, led by Fabrizio Romano, have reported that the 33-year-old Serbian midfielder is about to sign a one-year contract at AS Roma, with an option to extend it for another year.

It’s not hard to guess why the traditional Roman outfit want Matić in particular, which of course suggests that speculation over Mourinho’s departure won’t be so hot.

However, as we have become accustomed to, things happen very quickly in football. And if PSG opt for Mourinho, one can count on him not rejecting their offer. Coaching Messi, Neymar and Mbappé would certainly still be a big challenge for him.
