TheAmericans made up for their loss to Slovakia and crushed France 5:0. Team USA had a fantastic start to the game and benefited from it throughout the match. The French were helped by a goalkeeper substitution, but couldn’t manage a single goal into the American net.

The Americans took the lead in the first minute

Team USA fell asleep in the previous game against Slovakia and successfully pulled the game to at least a tie at the end, eventually earning a point for the overtime loss. Against France, however, the Americans would not allow any more unpleasant surprises.

And they showed it from the very beginning, when Brock Nelson scored after 45 seconds of play. After a quick combination, he headed a shot from between the circles between Julian Janec’s legs.

They followed up their excellent start with a 2-0 lead at 3:24. Matthew Boldy waited for a pass to his right and sent a shot on the kneel that the goalie could do nothing with.

The fans in Ostrava could see Boldy’s excellent finish at 12:30, when he scored his second goal of the game in the same way. This time, he waited for the puck between the circles and again burned everything in front of him.

To make matters worse, less than two minutes before the opening siren, the Americans added another goal to their collection. Johnny Gaudreau was the final scorer and caught Boldy in the scoring column. Both American hockey players have scored six Canadian points at this year’s championship.

The U.S. team improved its lead from the opening period late in the

Junca did not enter the second period and cashed in four times in the first 20 minutes. Quentin Papillon got between the three sticks, which seemed like the right move. The French did not manage to equalize and did not score once.

However, even their opponents could not succeed against their new goalkeeper. The Americans sent 38 shots at the substitute goalkeeper, of which Papillon made 37 saves.

The only blemish on a perfect performance came at 57:52 when the French defenders made a mistake. Brady Tkachuk wrestled the puck away and passed it to Shane Pinto, who easily closed the scoring for the final 5:0.

The Americans added three points to their tally, jumping to third place with seven points. Fourth-placed Latvia has the same number of points but a worse score, but they have yet to play each other.
