The American beauty revealed a scary past! The former UFC fighter was abused as a minor by her own father
Kay Hansen may not be one of the biggest stars in women’s MMA, but at 23 she still has it all ahead of her. So the fact that her first stint in the UFC didn’t work out may not mean anything. She’s also recently made a major move. She spoke out about her troubled past.
Kay Hansen may not be one of the biggest stars in women’s MMA, but at 23 she still has it all ahead of her. So the fact that her first stint in the UFC didn’t work out may not mean anything. She’s also recently made a major move. She spoke out about her troubled past.
She has a 7-6 record, but it doesn’t have to mean anything. Kay Hansen is still only 23 years old, and although she has three losses in a row, they have all been in the UFC against very skilled opponents. She is now in the Invicta organization where she will be looking to get back on a winning streak.
However, before she makes her cage debut, the American beauty has made a big move. For the fighter who has been beaten by the likes of Magdaléna Šormová has spoken out about her troubled past.
In collaboration with the Invicta organisation, she has released a documentary in which she revealed that she was raped and sexually assaulted by her father for several years. “MMA and training were my only escape and the only form of reality I had any real control over,” Hansen says in the documentary.
Back in 2021, in an interview, the talented fighter, who makes her living creating content on the OnlyFans platform, among other things, admitted to battling an eating disorder that caused her to withdraw from a fight. She also spoke out about the abuse for the first time.
At the time, however, she didn’t mention that it was her father. She only said that she was raped by a family member between the ages of 16 and 19. She was afraid that the truth would only hurt her in the future.
But now Hansen is trying to inspire other people who have gone through a similar situation:: “Sexual abuse is all too common and often swept under the rug. You don’t have to go through it alone. You deserve peace and justice. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.”
The American warrior is now recovering from her injuries. But she plans to return to the cage later this year.
