The American beauty faces an ultimatum. Does she still want to fight? The promoter spoke about her future
BKFC President David Feldman is unsure what Paige Vanzant’s future in combat sports will be.’12 Gauge’ has been out of action since her fight with Rachel Ostovich at BKFC 19 in July 2021. In that outing, Vanzant was ultimately outclassed en route to a unanimous decision defeat. The loss dropped the UFC veteran back to 0-2 in her BFKC run, having previously lost to Britain Hart in February. Since then, the UFC veteran has been out of the ring or out of the cage. VanZant had a brief stint in All Elite Wrestling and has expressed interest in making the jump to full-time professional wrestling. However, she hasn’t been seen on the show since her in-ring debut last May. Last year, there were reports that Paige VanZant would return in February, but that return was postponed due to injury. So far, there is no indication that the women’s flyweight will return to the promotion or fight elsewhere again. BKFC President David Feldman addressed the topic in a recent interview with Mirror Fighting. There, the promoter said he plans to meet with VanZant to discuss her future. Specifically, Feldman is eyeing an April return for the UFC veteran. If she declines to fight at the event, there’s a good chance VanZant will never compete in a BKFC ring again. “I’ll be talking to her this week. And there’s a possibility that she’ll be back on the big card we have in April,” said David Feldman in an interview regarding Paige VanZant. He continued, “If not, chances are she won’t be coming back to BKFC.”(h/t MMA News) He continued, “She’s making a lot of money doing her other deals. Maybe he doesn’t want to do that anymore, I’ll find out this week. I don’t think he’s going to turn it down because of the money. I think the only reason she would turn it down is because she doesn’t feel like fighting anymore.”
Paige VanZant is one of the biggest stars of the female combat sports scene. But we haven’t seen her in action in a long time, and now she’s facing an ultimatum. Will she still box without gloves? The future is outlined by BKFC head David Feldman.
At 28, Paige VanZant is an extremely experienced and decorated fighter. She was hilarious after her stint in the UFC. She complained a lot about the conditions in the biggest MMA organization in the world and built her own brand during her time there.
And for that, she must be extremely happy now. After all, she has already admitted her satisfaction in several interviews. She can do whatever she wants. She’s free to do whatever she wants in her career.
But when she accepted BKFC’s offer, it came as a surprise to the whole scene. After all, VanZant is one of the most beautiful fighters on the planet, and the idea of her boxing without gloves was quite frightening to many people.
Apart from that, the American star checked out a show put on by All Elite Wrestling, a competitor of the famous WWE brand. However, she last appeared there in May and nothing since.
Moreover, her last duel in BKFC was in July 2021. She lost to Rachael Ostovich and has a negative record of 0-2 in the organization. She dropped two fights in the second half of last year and was expected to return in early 2023, only for injuries to prevent it.
What’s next? VanZant faces an ultimatum. At least that’s what BKFC boss David Feldman has hinted. “I’ll be talking to her this week. There’s a possibility she’ll be back for the big card that’s scheduled for April. If she doesn’t show up there, chances are she won’t show up at BKFC,” BJPenn.com quoted him as saying.
“Paige is making a lot of money by having other businesses going on. She may not want to fight anymore. I’ll find out this week. If she refuses, it won’t be because of the money. I think the only reason to say no would be because she doesn’t feel like fighting anymore,” Feldman said.
