Linda Fruhvirtová is one of the biggest rising stars in women’s tennis. Although she is only fifteen years old, she has already competed in three WTA events.

She scored her first win among the best at the tournament in Charleston, USA, which is played on clay. She entered the tournament from 499th place in the WTA rankings.

First, she defeated Alize Cornet of France. The top 100 player called off the match at 4:4 in the third set. She then went on to win against the home player Emma Navarro.

In the quarter-finals, however, Fruhvirtová was no match for Australian Astra Sharma, whom she lost to after 4::6 and 3::6.

Thanks to this, she will have a steep rise in the rankings. In Monday’s edition she should be ranked 361st, which means a move of almost 140 positions. Her total score currently stands at 144 points.

After this performance, it can be expected that Fruhvirt could secure a wild card for upcoming tournaments.
