Jamahal Hill has only held the welterweight championship belt for a few weeks and is already looking ahead to a fight with heavyweight king Jon Jones. Did he see the fear in Jiri Prochazka’s eyes?

Hill and Prochazka watched the legend’s return from close range

The return of Jon Jones after a three-year fight fast has impressed many figures from the world of combat sports. The way he handled the number one heavyweight Ciryl Gano at UFC 285 was simply stunning.

Watching Jones’ precise performance from close range were welterweight champion Jamahal Hill and possibly his next opponent Jiri Prochazka. The two men met face to face at the aforementioned gala and even showed a mutual staredown for the cameras.

Champion Hill was thus able to see the fire in the eyes of the former division champion for the first time. What did he see in them? “He certainly didn’t look scared, ” Hill said when asked if he saw fear in Prochazka’s eyes, according to Inside Fighting.

“He looked like he was ready to fight, we’ll find out,” he said of the Moravian samurai. “I hope my next opponent will be him. I can’t wait to see who he’s up against.”

He hasn’t even defended his title yet, and he’s already looking to fight Jones

But before Hill has even made his first defense, he’s already looking to move up in weight class. He is so impressed with Jon Jones that he wants to share the cage with him and is even brimming with confidence that he is confident of victory in a potential duel.

“His (Jones’) performance was phenomenal, it looked so easy, ” he said of the legendary fighter’s return. “I would love to fight him right after I finish the challengers in my weight class. I think I’m capable of beating anyone,” he added confidently.

But first he will have to deal with his own division, where many challengers are waiting for him. One of them is Jiri Prochazka, whose rehabilitation is proceeding according to the boldest forecasts.

The Czech fighter will want to take the belt he was forced to give up due to a serious shoulder injury back to the Czech Republic.
