That’s enough! Will Hammers lose their coach a week before the league starts? West Ham fans run out of patience after Leverkusen debacle

The best football league in Europe is only a week away. Fans are mostly looking forward to it, but it is not so clear and optimistic in London, specifically in the case of West Ham. Hammers fans are calling for the sacking of coach David Moyes.

The best football league in Europe is only a week away. Fans are mostly looking forward to it, but it is not so clear and optimistic in London, specifically in the case of West Ham. Hammers fans are calling for the sacking of coach David Moyes.

Preparations for the new season are over and the eastern part of London is gripped by fears about the start of the Premier League. Although West Ham dominated the Conference League last season, there is little reason to rejoice.

After all, the Hammers have long struggled for Premier League affiliation. They only missed the relegation places by six points. Moreover, the squad led by David Moyes lost a gem in the form of Declan Rice, the club has not brought in a single reinforcement yet.

The performances and results from the friendlies are not too encouraging either. Hammers have a lot to think about just days before the start of the league.

West Ham did manage to start the preparation, but they won their first two matches against Boreham Wood, an English team that does not even play at the professional level, or Perth Glory, an Australian team that is one of the worse teams in the Australian first league.

The win over Tottenham counts, but the Hammers came to it like blind men to a fiddle. They scored three goals from four shots, Spurs had 32 shots in total, 13 on target and two in the net. A draw followed with Dagenham & Redbridge, who play in England’s fifth division.

Then came two bitter pills. First, West Ham were outplayed by Rennes of France, then the English club suffered a debacle at Leverkusen. Fans are running out of patience, Moyes is being criticised by English pundits as well.

Fans are already looking for a replacement

Will there be an unprecedented situation? The euphoria after winning the European trophy has disappeared, a week before the start of the Premier League, the club’s fans are calling for the end of the Scottish coach’s tenure. If this were to actually happen, it would be something unprecedented.

Anyway, West Ham supporters are not just criticising Moyes. They are also complaining about the owner in general, who is not addressing the current problems at all. But to make matters worse, many fans are also clear about who should replace Moyes.

Graham Potter is currently available, who has a failed Chelsea engagement under his belt. But before that he made a great name for himself at Brighton and West Ham could be an interesting destination for him.
