Mourinho has won virtually the most valuable prize in club football. The Champions League, the Europa League, the Premier League, La Liga. And yet he can be moved by promotion to the Conference League, the newly formed UEFA competition.
AS Roma drew 1-1 at Leicester in the first leg of the semi-final, and won the return leg 1-0 thanks to an 11th minute goal from Abraham. However, a video of the referee blowing the whistle for the last time has been circulating all over the internet.
José Mourinho, in disbelief and with tears in his eyes, could not contain his emotions and headed to his bench, where he was embraced by his colleagues in a joyful embrace.
For Mourinho, this is his fifth European final. He has two Champions League titles and two Europa League titles to his name. Since he left Porto, he has taken his team to the final of some competition.
“I am incredibly moved. This is the Champions League for us. We managed to build a good team that rose step by step and finally managed to beat a team from the Premier League,” an emotional Mourinho told reporters.
