That would be sensational! Luka Modric on the same team as Lionel Messi? It could become a reality next year
Luka Modric is undoubtedly technically one of the best footballers in history, as evidenced by winning the Ballon d’Or in 2018. This is seven times more true of Lionel Messi, so to see them on the same team would be sensational. This is despite the fact that the end of their careers is fast approaching.

This is seven times more true of Lionel Messi, so to see them on the same team would be sensational. This is despite the fact that the end of their careers is fast approaching.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter Miami could bring the Croatian midfielder to MLS at the end of the current season, when Modric’s contract at Real Madrid expires.
The American club’s co-owner and soccer legend David Beckham has been interested in Modric for quite some time, seeing him as the missing link in his soccer dream team.
But there’s a hitch! Inter face a difficult challenge as to whether their salary cap will allow Modric and Messi to play on the same team in MLS. Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are already at the club, while there is also open talk about the arrival of the productive Luis Suárez.
Given the packed midfield lineup, there is little doubt about Modric’s end at the White Ballet, but the player himself is at a crossroads. In doing so, he was offered a staggering sum from Saudi team Al Hilal during the summer.
However, the Croatian midfielder has decided to stay loyal to Real Madrid. However, the aforementioned competition has made it virtually impossible for him to get on the pitch, having played just 287 minutes in 7 games so far.
Players such as Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Dani Ceballos and with the new arrival Jude Bellingham, who is also shining unprecedentedly, the competition is too much. However, Modric’s experience is immense and one can count on Carlo Ancelotti wanting to keep the club’s long-time stalwart in Madrid at least until the end of this season.
This has been confirmed by ESPN, who wrote that Modric has expressed his desire to stay at Real Madrid.
However, we must not forget that at the age of 38, there may be concerns about his physical condition. Modric has so far played 495 games in the White Ballet jersey and scored 37 goals. During his impressive 11 years at Real Madrid, he has won an astonishing 23 trophies, including 3 La Liga titles, 5 Champions League trophies and 2 Copa del Rey titles.
Will the Croatian midfielder meet his Hollywood end and take up the challenge of Inter Miami, where he will join forces with Messi and other Barcelona rivals?
