The Atlético Madrid vs Liverpool match was a battle for the top spot in Group B. The visitors were soon 2-0 up, but the home side equalised thanks to Griezmann. However, the French striker also showed his negative side and had to leave the field after a bad tackle due to a red card.

Atlético Madrid played a home game against Liverpool, who led Group B by two points. It was a slight favourite, which was confirmed from the edge of the match.

Mohamed Salah sent Liverpool into the lead in the eighth minute, five minutes later Naby Keita added his team’s second goal.

However, Antoine Griezmann scored two goals in the 20th and 34th minutes to make it 2-2 at half-time.

But Griezmann also showed himself in a bad light. In the 52nd minute, he fouled Firmino badly and was red-carded by the referee and had to take an early shower.

It was a kung-fu kick to the head of the Brazilian striker, who fortunately was able to continue the match after this nasty foul.

The red card essentially cost Atlético the points, Liverpool were the better team and Salah converted the penalty kick to secure the win.
