The Champions League returns on Tuesday and before the most anticipated duels, the junior version of the competition has been played. In the quarter-finals, Sporting Lisbon and Liverpool took on the 19-year-olds and in the sixth minute there was a scary moment.

The UEFA Youth League, if you want to call it the junior Champions League, has already had two quarter-final matches and AC Milan and Sporting Lisbon have reached the semi-finals. The Portuguese side took on Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon, and the match saw an awkward situation.

It was in the eighth minute of the match when Ben Doak was in a header battle with one of the opponents. The 17-year-old winger, who has a promising future at Anfield, looked uncoordinated and confused after the tackle.

Doak immediately grabbed his head and after struggling to stay on his feet for a moment, he slumped to the ground and collapsed. Medics immediately arrived on the field and began treatment. After Doak had been on the ground for two minutes, he was relieved.

The whole scene made the players nervous and scared. The situation did not look good at all, however the player, who arrived in Liverpool in the summer from Celtic Glasgow, should be medically fine.

A few hours after the match, Liverpool Football Club also informed about his condition. “Ben said he was dizzy but he passed all the tests at the stadium and was able to leave on his own. He was on the pitch with the team after the game and then went to the airport with his teammates,” the English club announced.

“Ben is now feeling fine but we will of course follow standard Football Association protocol,” the announcement further read.

Doak has also made a big impression on coach Jürgen Klopp, notching four starts for the A-team this season, making two appearances in the Premier League. He has already scored 10 goals and 7 assists in the youth teams.
