Teresa Bledá recently announced that she will fight for a contract in the UFC in Dana White’s Contender Series in front of the boss of the famous organization. How does the first Czech in the UFC Karlos Vémola see her chances?
The end of August and the beginning of September will be interesting for MMA fans in the Czech Republic. Within one week, the Oktagon champion Tereza Bledá and the Moravian fighter Matěj Peňáz will fight for a contract in the UFC.
Bledá, if she manages to win the contract, could be the youngest fighter ever in the UFC. She is only 20 years old, so her entire career is still ahead of her. Yet she has already achieved big wins and managed to beat Lucie Pudilova, the first Czech woman in the UFC.
However, the Czech fighter will not have it easy, as she will face the 31-year-old Brazilian. Nayara Arnault Maia Correia has a professional MMA career record of 6::0, Pale has a 5::0 record.
In an interview with MMA Shorties, the Octagon champion revealed that she was really pushing for a UFC engagement: “Andre Reinders and I pushed a lot to get a contract or a Contender deal. And when I say pushed a lot, I was probably the most annoying being in the world.”
She said she addressed Contender last fall, but it was too soon and she needed more fights. She said the Octagon title helped the offer come through now.
And what did Karlos Vémola say? The biggest star of the Czech MMA scene had to congratulate Bleda. But besides that, he also puts his faith in her.
“I think she has a great chance to succeed. Just like she did several times in the Octagon and became the youngest champion. I believe she’s going to snatch that contract and then do great things in the UFC,” The Terminator expressed to Fight Live.
