Tecl has priority over both Fila and Schranz? Slavia’s roster for Europe a surprise, still time to change
On Thursday night Slavia will play Panathinaikos in the third round of the Conference Finals, but already now the social media is resonating with what kind of roster they will go into it with. Stanislav Tecl is still registered, but young Daniel Fila is not, and Ivan Schranz is missing.
On Thursday night Slavia will play Panathinaikos in the third round of the Conference Finals, but already now the social media is resonating with what kind of roster they will go into it with. Stanislav Tecl is still registered, but young Daniel Fila is not, and Ivan Schranz is missing.
Slavia and the problems with the European roster is a traditional problem in recent years. There can be only 22 players on the so-called “A-list” for the A-team players, while the “B-list” for youth players is unlimited.
While Slavia used to be able to use Tomáš Souček, Alex Kral, Jaromír Zmrhal or Jan Kuchta, they currently have almost no players on the roster. The only permanent member of the squad who does not take up a place on the A-list is Matěj Valenta. Matěj Jurásek and goalkeeper Jan Sirotník round out the youngsters.
Slavia, like all teams playing in the third round of the cups, had to send the roster for Europe by July 29. However, there is still room for two changes until Wednesday, i.e. until tonight.
And they will probably be used. This was supposed to be the original roster that sparked anger in the Slavia fans. Instead of Daniel Fila and Ivan Schranz, the much criticised Stanislav Tecl was preferred.
Jakub Hromada, Srdjan Plavsic, Přemysl Kovář and the long-term injured Jan Bořil and David Hovorka did not fit on the roster either.
However, according to behind-the-scenes information, Slavia will make one last-minute change. Ivan Schranz should be added to the roster, but it has to be at the expense of someone.
It should be David Jurasek, a young left back. Slavia would go into the doubleheader with Panathinaikos with only one left back, Oscar Dorley.
Slavia’s current roster for the third round of the Conference Finals:
Goalkeepers
Aleš Mandous, Ondřej Kolář, Jan Sirotník (B-list)
Defenders
Aiham Ousou, Eduardo Santos, Oscar Dorley, Christ Tiéhi, David Douděra, Taras Kacharaba, David Jurásek

Forwards
Yira Sor, Stanislav Tecl, Václav Jurečka
Outside
Jakub Hromada, Ivan Schranz, Daniel Fila, Srdjan Plavsic, Marek Icha
