Manchester United could once again become the richest club in the world. The famous Apple Inc. is seriously considering buying it.

Apple has recently been investing in gold, for example, to protect its money from inflation, and another step to prevent the company’s vast assets from depreciating could be to invest in a football club like England’s traditional Manchester United.

The Glazer family, which now owns the club, could cash in a staggering £5.8 billion from Apple, which in Czech koruna terms is about £164 billion. Manchester United would become the richest football team in the world if this sale goes through.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the wealthiest Englishman, who is also a lifelong Red Devils fan, has recently expressed interest in the famous club.

Apple is said to be prepared to overpay Ratcliffe

The club is now drowning in debt, with the American Glazer family using the famous brand for their own enrichment rather than celebrating any significant success with United.

Football is not a priority and so Old Trafford supporters hope that the new ownership will lift the club economically but more importantly sportingly.

The Glazers will listen to the highest bid that lands them for Manchester United. So while Ratcliffe was willing to invest £5 billion, Apple is prepared to provide almost a billion more to buy the iconic sporting manchurian, according to the Daily Star.

Apple is the largest technology company on the planet with annual revenue of almost £326 billion. The Californian firm has no experience of owning a sports club yet, but its CEO Tim Cook is looking at ways to successfully invest in that sector too.

It is worth noting, then, that MacRumors denies Apple’s interest in Manchester United.
