Tchouaméni: Mbappé persuaded me to go to PSG. I asked my agent to do anything to get me to Real Madrid

Aurélien Tchouaméni is officially a new Real Madrid player. The Royal club will pay 80 million euros for him, plus another 20 in bonuses. The French international has admitted that he was also persuaded to move to PSG by Kylian Mbappé.

The 22-year-old midfielder could practically show where he wants to head in Europe. In the end, three teams – Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG – made it to the final round of interest.

The Parisian giant offered the most money to both Monaco and the player’s contract, while Jürgen Klopp in turn tried to lure Tchouaméni to a secure place in the starting line-up of one of the Premier League’s strongest sides. However, the young Frenchman was clear, he only wanted to join Real Madrid, despite the huge competition awaiting him.

Indeed, Ancelotti has Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Valverde, Camavinga and Ceballos at his disposal for the centre of midfield.

“Maybe I would have had more guaranteed minutes elsewhere. But this is Real Madrid. It’s a challenge. I spoke to Ancelotti and he told me to come to Madrid to become one of the best,” Tchouaméni said at his first news conference in the Spanish capital.

He also commented on the fact that Kylian Mbappé tried to persuade him to move to PSG, who has extended powers after the new contract and can co-determine reinforcements.

“Kylian Mbappé spoke to me and tried to get me to PSG. But I told him I only wanted to go to Real Madrid. He decided to stay at PSG and knew I would leave Monaco, so he tried to persuade me, but Real Madrid was my first choice,” Tchouaméni explained.

Like many other fans, experts and players, he was blown away by Real Madrid’s journey through this year’s Champions League.

“After every Real Madrid game in the Champions League I wrote to my agent: You have to do everything you can to get me there, ” the Frenchman revealed of his desire to wear the white jersey.

At the same time, he revealed a conversation with national teammate Karim Benzema, who promised to help him in the beginning. He will also reunite with his friend Eduardo Camavinga in the Champions League winner’s team, who also persuaded him to move to Madrid.
