Suspicious bets on Gábor Boráros? We’re pulling him out of the tournament until the situation is investigated, Novotny said
The fight between Gábor Boráros and Kirill Medvedovski has been widely discussed in the last week. In connection with the result, bookmakers have noted suspicious bets that do not cast a good light on the fighters or the organization. Now, Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný has commented on the situation and temporarily pulled Boráros from the tournament in Liberec.
The Fabriq MMA organization had its second tournament, which unfortunately was not without controversy. The reason is the main fight between Gábor Boráros and Kirill Medvedovski.
This is because the bookmakers have recorded really suspicious bets on it. Everything is currently under investigation and the question is what the outcome will be.
The case has not escaped the partner organization Oktagon, of which Gábor is a part. At the press conference, the question of how the organization will deal with it came up.
Because I can imagine he’s going to say, ‘Well, you know, but…’ The fan reaction is absolutely clear, Gábor Boráros is officially withdrawn from the Liberec tournament at this point because the suspicion is so great that we can’t ignore it.
The wave of the fans’ anger is so big that we definitely don’t want to ignore it. So we’re pulling him until the whole thing is investigated,” he told Octagon TIME at the press conference.
Meanwhile, Boráros is also on the poster of the Oktagon 41 tournament, hence he was one of the main draws. Selim Topuz, however, will probably have to look for a new opponent.
