Sundsvall vs. Malmö: Preview and betting tips
Friday’s Swedish league schedule will see two teams that were expected to do more in the pre-season. Sundsvall, the penultimate team, will welcome Malmö, which is only in fifth place despite its title ambitions.
Friday’s Swedish league programme will see two teams that were expected to do more in the pre-season. Sundsvall, the penultimate team, will welcome Malmö, which is only in fifth place despite its title ambitions.
Sundsvall have struggled so far this season, with the most defeats of any team and just six points. From the penultimate position, they have a single point lead over the bottom (occupied by Helsingborg).
Malmö, as the favourite of Allsvenskan, has not started well either, but with two wins in a row they are a little closer to the top of the competition. They are three points behind fifth-placed Hacken, but the league leader has one game in hand.
Pontus Engblom has been on fire for the home team, with the experienced striker scoring five times and assisting once. Talented Finnish winger and national player Saku Ylätupa scored four goals and assisted on one.
Veljko Birmancevic was scorching for the visitors, with the Serbian international scoring seven times and assisting four times. At 35 years old, Ola Toivonen is still not lost among the Swedish elite, the offensive midfielder has scored three goals.
Sundsvall’s defence is not working at all, with 29 goals scored, clearly the worst in this respect, with more than one goal scored in all nine losses.
Malmö, on the other hand, boasts the league’s second-best defensive record, scoring only ten times, even once in the last four games.
Given Malmö’s excellent defensive performance and the fact that they have scored six goals in the last three rounds, I think the visitors will win by two or more goals.
