Sterling on his way out? I hope he stays, he’s incredibly important to us, says Guadiola

Raheem Sterling recently let it be known that he is not too happy with the time he is getting on the pitch. He also hinted that he could see himself leaving the Premier League. What does coach Pep Guardiola have to say?
Raheem Sterling is experiencing quite a decline in form. Back in the 2019/20 season, he was undoubtedly one of the best footballers on the planet, but since then he has just not been able to build on his great performances and especially his excellent numbers.
This is also the reason why he doesn’t get as much space on the pitch in a Manchester City jersey as he used to. So he needs to motivate himself properly to win his place back.
Instead, he expressed his dream of playing abroad in the media, although he didn’t want to complain in any way.
And what did coach Pep Guardiola say? “Raheem is an incredibly important player for us. But I can’t guarantee how many minutes he will play. He has to fight it out on the pitch and in training,” he was quoted as saying in the press conference.
Apparently no one at the club knew Sterling was thinking about a transfer. However, the Catalan strategist has one request: “I want everyone to be happy and happy to be here. If they are not, they have to make the best decision for themselves and their family.”
Guardiola subsequently revealed that Mahrez and Cancelo are also not getting the maximum amount of game time, yet they are not complaining because they understand the situation. However, he added that he was a player and therefore can understand Sterling because every player wants to play 100% of the time. But of course he can’t guarantee that to anyone.
