The Premier League season is over and it was significantly more balanced than in recent years. We know the top scorers, assists, goal scorers, but what about the negative stats. St interesting graphic came up by the statistics portal WhoScored.
Ben Foster had the worst save percentage among goalkeepers, catching only 58.3% of shots in a Watford jersey. After the end of the season, the long-time number one decided to leave the club, with Austrian Daniel Bachmann taking his place.
Brentford’s right wing-back Sergi Canos had the worst pass success rate in his own half of the pitch (69.4%), while on the other side Romain Perraud of Southampton held a terrible nine per cent success rate.
Although stopper Daniel Amartey doesn’t play regularly at Leicester, he made the most errors leading them to goals (4), Leeds’ Diego Llorente won just 43.9% of aerial duels, a very low figure indeed for a central defender.
Burnley’s central midfielder Jack Cork had the worst defensive tackle success rate (35.1) despite considerable Premier League experience, while Manchester United’s Paul Pogba managed the fewest tackles per foul, specifically 0.3.
Burnley’s talented winger Dwight McNeil ‘s terrible season is portrayed by the statistic of 52 shots without a single goal scored. Even Norwich’s Milot Rashica has remained below expectations, with a 21.9% dribbling success rate that speaks volumes.
Norwich’s American striker Josh Sargent only got 12.5% of his shots on target, while Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke converted only 20% of his big chances. Both figures are truly appalling for the Thunder.
