Stanek finished ninth in his first qualifying session in Formula 2 and will start Saturday’s sprint from second position

Moreover, he will start from the front row for tomorrow’s sprint, where the top ten from qualifying will be reversed, giving him a chance for a good result in his first race in Formula 2.
Frenchman Théo Pourchaire of the ART GP team dominated the first Formula 2 qualifying session of the year, with his French teammate Victor Martins coming in second, 751 thousandths behind his compatriot, and Dutchman Richard Verschoor rounding out the top three.
Stanek lost just over one second to the winning Pourchaire. The sprint race is scheduled for tomorrow at 14:15 and the Czech pilot will start from second place.
The main race, where more points are at stake, is scheduled for Sunday 11:20 a.m. and will start according to the results of the qualifying.
