Speculation around Zinédine Zidane. Where will the French pilot finally land?
Zinédine Zidane will have no shortage of offers ahead of the upcoming season. According to the latest reports, Bayern Munich are in the running for the fifty-one-year-old coach’s services, but L’Équipe newspaper dismisses the Bavarians’ interest in Zidane, stating that he would prefer Manchester United.

Bayern Munich have previously announced that current coach Thomas Tuchel will end up on their bench after the season. German national football team coach Julian Nagelsmann was a hot candidate for his position, but he eventually decided to stay with the national team.
Speculations about other names are starting to emerge. Thiago Motta, who is having a fantastic year with Bologna this season, was in the mix not long ago.
There was also talk of Brighton manager Robert de Zerbi, or Austria national team coach Ralf Ragnick. Now the name of Zinédine Zidane, who last managed Real Madrid, has also appeared in the media.
Zidane reportedly prefers Manchester United
The information about the Munich giant’s interest was reported by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo. According to the report, Zidane should take Bayern icon Franck Ribéry on his bench. However, besides the L’Équipe newspaper, German journalist Florian Plettenberg also denies the Germans’ interest.

Zidane, according to the reports, would prefer an engagement in the British Isles, specifically at Manchester United. There, for now, the role of boss is held by Dutch coach Erik ten Hag, but there is not much satisfaction with his actions in the red part of Manchester. That is why a summer change is being proposed.
Will he follow up his successful engagement in Madrid?
The French pilot has a golden hat-trick in the Champions League with Real Madrid from 2016-2018. After a one-year break from coaching, he then returned to the bench of the royal club. During his second two-year anabasis, he managed to win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in the 2019/20 season.
Apart from the White Ballet, Zidane has not coached yet. At Madrid, he benefited a lot from the previous work of renowned coaches. This time around, the football world could see his first engagement outside of the Spanish big club, and so the question is, can he build on his many successes during his short coaching career?
