Real Madrid at the sacred Santiago Bernabéu in all white? That has been the case until now, but even the greatest tradition has to be broken sometimes. To mark the club’s 120th anniversary, Adidas has prepared a special black collection for Real Madrid, which the players will wear in Sunday’s El Clásico.
In addition, Adidas is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto, so the two companies have teamed up to create a unique black jersey for Real Madrid. The font on the new jersey looks like this:
Barcelona will also wear the unconventional jersey. The latter hasn’t created any new ones, but at the request of president Joan Laporta, they are recycling the so-called ‘senyera kit’ that the Catalans have used in the past.
The duel is scheduled for Sunday at 9pm. Real Madrid is the table leader, 10 points ahead of Sevilla. Barcelona are in third place and fighting for the Champions League.
