On Thursday, the Spartans will face a Champions League rematch with AS Roma. They could have travelled to Italy better, but unfortunately conceding two goals late on means they need to win by two goals.
“We analysed the first game on video, we showed what we failed to do and what we need to improve on. I believe we will do those things better and be more consistent in the rematch.
We have moved forward again and it is up to us how we will use it in the match,” coach Jan Masaryk told reporters. The Sparta players will be a big underdog in the rematch, with Czech bookmakers putting odds of over 10 on them.
However, the first match, which was attended by over 1,500 fans, showed that there is a chance to win and when else to try to fight than now.
“In the first game we showed them that we can play strongly and we attacked them well. Our opponents didn’t expect us to do that and we surprised them a little bit. We want to be even more assertive on Thursday and we want to play even more offensively,” defender Anna Dlaskova said.
Sparta also improved its taste at the weekend, beating Viktoria Plzeň 3-1 in the fifth round of the league. They are still 100 percent.
