While the Prague derby win was a big event for Sparta, Pavel Vrba’s charges failed to follow up their victory against Plzeň at the weekend. The team from Letná was glad to have at least a draw with Viktoria.
However, it cannot be said that the Spartan coach took the match with Partizan as an indulgence. However, he is aware of the importance of the match. Therefore, he wants to learn the most from the match with Viktoria.
“We want to advance and get the best possible result at home. We respect the quality of Partizan, they are the strongest in Serbia, but we want to advance further,” he let himself be heard at the press conference.
Vrba admitted that he had seen the last few Partizan games. He said they are a team that is strong on the ball, has a good offensive attack, fast and dynamic foreign players and predatory and footballing Serbs.
The match will probably not feature the same line-up that played against Plzeň. Sparta’s coach wants to rotate players because of the demanding schedule. Ladislav Krejci Jr. is also in the game, but he is still not 100% healthy.
“He is a very important player for us. It turns out that we need such a player. He is above standard and terribly important in such games. If you remember the cup game against Slavia, he helped us a lot. We will do everything we can to make sure he can play,” Vrba praised Krejci.
The former national team and Plzeň coach hinted that there will be systemic changes. When he is dissatisfied, there is always a theme to change something. Will the change that is likely to happen be successful?
